About the Tourism Learning Space


The Tourism Learning Space provides information on learning and skills development opportunities, including courses, resources and assistance. The material is designed for tourism operators, students and all others interested in improving their tourism knowledge and skills.

The Tourism Learning Space includes:

  • a comprehensive Tourism Learning Directory, listing learning and skills development opportunities and resources available, and
  • a series of Industry Development Infosheets providing information on a range of tourism and skills development topics.

Tourism Learning Directory (formerly Refidex)


The Tourism Learning Directory is divided into two sections:

  • A listing of learning and skills development opportunities across various sectors of the tourism industry, eg attractions, tour operators.
  • ‘Additional resources’ including publications of all kinds, conferences and expos, tourism research contacts, website and magazine listings.

Industry Development Infosheets


The Industry Development Infosheets (INFOSHEETS) include information on a number of key areas to assist in improving tourism career and business knowledge:

The INFOSHEETs outline existing programs, resources, useful links and references for further information.

The Tourism e-kit

The Tourism e-kit is an online educational program incorporating 37 informative tutorials, which recognise the challenges that small to medium tourism businesses are facing, trying to keep pace with the rapidly changing market environment.

The e-kit will guide you through a number of online tutorials covering a range of topics including planning and developing a website, writing web friendly content and successfully promoting their product online. It aims to provide you with knowledge and guidance to make informed decisions about what online tools and activities you can invest in.

The e-kit is an initiative of the National Online Strategy Committee, which represents the Australian state, national and territory tourism offices.
